What’s in My Purse: August

I’ve been trying out lots of new things lately, what with product releases, fall collections and sales, but here are the staples that go to work with me every day.

In My Purse August 2013 - Hourglass Ambient Lightin Powder, Starbucks Napkins, Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment, L'Occitane Hand Cream, First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Lip Therapy, Hakuhodo Fan Brush, Sonia Kashuk Lip Brush, Guerlain Rouge G Grenade, Edward Bess Lip Definer Natural

Cometic Bag

I don’t know the brand, but I got it from TJ Maxx. My purse is just one big compartment, so I like to keep everything from rattling around the bottom.

Starbucks Napkins

These make great (and cheap!) blotting papers. I cut them into squares and use a bobby pin to corral them all together.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder

I’ve been using Ethereal for a while, but I just picked up Dim recently too. While they don’t have any amazing oil-controlling abilities – which they don’t claim to – they do give the skin a nice glow.

Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment

I’m still working on the second mini from the Sephora 2012 birthday gift! I got mine in November, so each one has lasted just under 6 months with regular use. I love the lemony smell of the clear one.

Sonia Kashuk Retractable Lip Brush

I prefer to apply my lipsticks with a brush because it uses less product and I can get a better line that way. The Sonia Kashuk brush is portable and inexpensive, so it totally fits my needs.

L’Occitane Hand Cream

I’m obsessive about keeping my hands moisturized, and this stuff is amazing.

Hakuhodo Fan Brush

I use this to apply the Hourglass powder. A full review is coming, but just know that it’s soft as a kitten and is perfect for reapplying powder because it doesn’t disturb the rest of my makeup at all.

Edward Bess Defining Lip Liner in Natural

I don’t really wear lip liner often, but this one is a great match for my natural lip color so I keep it in my bag for when I need it.

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Lip Therapy

I actually keep this one in my wallet, and it’s the one I use most. Now that I’m taking Accutane I’m finding I need to apply lip balm every couple hours. The FAB one is petroleum-free, so it doesn’t make my lipstick slide around or rub off.

Lip Color of the Day

I always bring along whatever lip product I’m wearing so I can reapply after lunch. In this case, it’s Guerlain Rouge G in Grenade.
