Swatch time: new Givenchy Le Rouge shades

[cf-shortcode plugin=”acf” field=”affiliate_link”]

Ever since I saw the new Givenchy Le Rouge shades on the Sephora website, I’ve been (im)patiently waiting for my local store to get them in stock and update their displays. I stopped by yesterday to re-match myself in Hourglass Immaculate foundation (I’m much lighter this year than I was when I bought it last summer), and the new lipsticks were finally there! So of course I sneaked a few swatches for you:

Givenchy Le Rouge new shades swatches

From left to right we’ve got

  • 105 Brun Vintage
  • 106 Nude Guipure
  • 107 Beige Caraco
  • 108 Beige Déshabillé
  • 204 Rose Budoir
  • 209 Rose Perfecto
  • 210 Rose Dahlia
  • 211 Rose Ruban
  • 302 Hibiscus Exclusif
  • 303 Corail Décolleté
  • 305 Rouge Égérie
  • 315 Framboise Velours (which doesn’t seem to be available online at Sephora, but Barneys has it)
  • 317 Corail Signature

I resisted the urge to buy any because I’m still supposed to be saving for vacation, but I did wear Rose Ruban home. I also had a few of the other shades from where they were released earlier overseas and I picked up Rouge Égérie not long after the new ones came out in the US. I wish I could have gotten lip swatches of them all, but the store was pretty busy and I didn’t want to be all up in the way. After I got home I did make lip swatches of all the ones I have, though.

I tried on Nude Guipure at the store too, and it was very close to the same color as my bare lips. Like the original 12 colors that the line launched with, several of the shades are pretty similar to each other – it’s definitely not a line where you need to go out and get every shade (as tempting as it is!). The subtle differences do make it easier to find a shade that fits your skin tone.

Givenchy Le Rouge lipsticks ($36) are available at sephora.com and barneys.com

I absolutely love the formula of these lipsticks, it’s a shame they’re almost $40 each!
