Haul: UK Goodies
I’m finally back home after traveling for the holidays, and yesterday we got our mail from a friend who’d been picking it up for us while we were gone. That sounds like the least noteworthy thing ever, I know, but I’d been looking forward to that all week because I knew it would contain some long-awaited treasures. You see, a few months ago an online friend in the UK (who’s also a fellow beauty blogger) and I arranged to make some shopping expeditions for each other so we could get things that aren’t available locally. You can see the goodies in her haul on her blog, Pigmented Lips. It took a little while because we both waited to buy during sales (hey, might as well get the best deal, right?) but it was well worth the wait. Here’s what I got:
Charlotte Tilbury Luxury Palette in The Rock Chick – This is a quad of cool, taupey greys. I had actually planned to get a Suqqu quad, but the one I wanted was out of stock. I’m not sorry though – I wore this yesterday and it was lovely. It’s available at Selfridges (£38/approx $63). They do ship to the US now, but shipping is a hefty £25, or around $41. Ouch.
Givenchy Le Rouge Lipstick in 105 Brun Vintage and 303 Corail Decollete – I have a love affair with this formula, so I’ve been dying for these two colors, which aren’t available in the US. In the UK you can get them from Debenhams (£24/approx $40), but unfortunately they don’t seem to ship beauty products internationally – so a forwarding service or a kind friend is needed.
Dior Mystic Metallics 5 Couleurs Eyeshadow Palette in Constellation – This was available in the US, but true to form I didn’t decide I wanted it until it was already sold out here. Luckily it was still in stock over there, but sadly has sold out since then.
Charlotte Tilbury Colour Chameleon Pencil in Dark Pearl – Since discovering Laura Mercier Caviar Sticks I’ve been all over some eyeshadow pencils. I haven’t gotten a chance to try this one yet, but I think the color will pair beautifully with LM Rosegold. It’s available from Selfridges (£19.00/approx $31).
Bourjois Java Rice Powder – I’m really excited to try this because I’ve seen nothing but raves about it. Not that I probably need another illuminating finishing powder, but it’s relatively inexpensive (£9.99/approx $17) so I couldn’t really resist. International folks can grab it from Selfridges, or at Boots or Superdrug for all you UK folk.
Naturally, reviews on all this loot will be coming up once I get a chance to test drive it. If there’s a particular one you’d like to see first, let me know in the comments!
