Spring stuff is staring to hit the counters, and just so you know, I am coveting ALL THE THINGS. Seriously, I don’t know if it’s just because I’ve been buying much more selectively lately or what, but I keep rolling through my bloglovin feed going “oh, that’s so pretty!”, “oh, and that!” etc, etc. I have not yet won the lottery (probably because I don’t play), so I’ll have admire a bunch of these from afar for now.
I tried on the Adalyn fit shirt from Equipment while I was suit shopping back in October-ish, and unfortunately it was totally impractical for what I needed at the time. The neckline is extremely deep on me and the sleeves basically cover my entire hand, but I keep thinking of it anyway – roll up the sleeves and install a hook & eye closure just above the top button, and it becomes the perfect comfy-yet-chic blouse that’s missing from my closet.
I was seriously impressed when I bought my first (and so far, only) Louboutin nail polish, but I’ve found myself not wearing it all that much. I have the color Simple Nude which is lovely, but not the perfect nude for my skin tone. And for that sort of splurge, shouldn’t it really be perfect? So now I have Just Nothing on my wishlist, because I think it would be much closer.
Not gonna lie, when I first saw the MUFE 50 Shades of Grey cheek trio, I almost got it for the adorable little travel blush brush even though I didn’t like the theme or the blush colors. Someone pointed out that they have a travel brush set with the same cheek brush in it, which would be a slightly less ridiculous purchase. Suddenly I’ve become that person who will buy things just because they’re tiny. Please send help.
I’m not so sure I want to buy the new Guerlain Meteorites Baby Glow as much as I want to see it – the Guerlain counter here didn’t have their testers in last time I checked. Is it a foundation? A luminizer? Complete snake oil? Everyone seems to be waiting on someone else to try it first, so I haven’t seen many good swatches/reviews of it yet. Perhaps I’ll have to take one for the team.
I adore my Hourglass Modernist Palette in Infinity (I’m wearing it as I write this, in fact) and…. I kinda want another one. I’ve had my eye on Color Field because for whatever reason that olive shade just calls to me, but I’m holding off until I can swatch them in store first.
Another gotta-maybe-buy-it-again is the YSL Tint-in-Oil. I haven’t had a chance to try on all of them yet – they stain so you can really only test one per day, and Sephora is a 20-30 minute drive for me – but I do like the look of Crush Me Orange. It end up being a nice peachy tint, but still subtle.
In my book, NARS takes the prize for ‘most awesome spring stuff’ this year. If I had a duffle bag of cash, I could probably take it to 413 Bleecker St and ask politely for them to just give me one of everything. The 2015 Narsissist Palette with the new dual-intensity eyeshadows has been in and out of my shopping cart since it was released. I keep deciding against it because it’s not a very cohesive set of colors, but for real, how else are you going to get to try that many of the new shadows for that price? You can’t, that’s how. The All Day Luminous Foundation also looks nice, because who doesn’t want to try an innovative new formula? Please ignore the fact that basically all new foundation releases are innovative, exclusive, ground-breaking, high-tech, yada yada. Aaaand, they FINALLY have a couple everyday shades in their Eye Paints! Porto Venere is a light pink that I think would work really well as a base (or on its own), and Baalbek is a deep shimmery brown that totally wants to be a brown smoky eye when it grows up. The original colors are nice too, of course, but it’s good to see something that isn’t quite so out there.
So what’s on your wishlist of the moment?

February 1, 2015 at 4:31 amah, i hadn’t really noticed the new eye paint shades! i’m curious about the foundation too. and i got the dual intensity palette! i’m weirdly excited about it – something about these palettes makes me excited about nars eyeshadows when otherwise i’m just kinda whatever about them!
