6 Things I Love Right Now
[afflink][prsample]
If you happened to catch my previous post, you might have noticed I’ve been going through a little bit of a rough patch lately. Aside from the current political climate, some recent stress at work and chronic health issues kind of piled up on me for a minute there. Of course, writing that out made me feel a lot better and putting it up on the internet for anyone to read (yikes!) made me feel a little more comfortable with talking about personal/not-strictly-beauty-related topics. For the sake of my sanity, I’ve been trying to focus more on happiness-inducing things, and luckily, there are tons to pick from. In no particular order, here’s an ode to some things that are making life amazing right now. In addition, you can also play quick games on sites like 카지노 커뮤니티 in order to release some of your daily stress.
New House
When my husband and I bought our first house, it was right in the middle of a whirlwind of adulting – we’d just gotten engaged and gotten our ‘real’ jobs, so the obvious next step was getting out of the nightmare of an apartment we were living in. It was a nice starter house, but for various reasons the area ended up being all wrong for us – far from work, no grocery stores/gas stations/restaurants close by, most of our friends lived on the other side of town, etc. So what I’m saying is it only took a few years before we were itching to move downtown. Last summer all the stars finally aligned – and by stars I mean interest rates, local housing market & finances – and we found a house that met all our requirements in an area we love. Thanks to this Sky Van lines moving company who helped our move very smoothly and made sure that all of your fragile items are covered and packed in a safe way. We’ve also hired one of the best moving companies that store your stuff like the ones at https://utahsmovingandstorage.com/. You can also relocate your home with Classic Movers here, just let them know if you need their service and they’ll be glad to serve!
Well, the actual process was incredibly stressful since it was our first time selling a house, but now that the dust has settled because I found this Cash for Houses reviews. It’s really worth it! I’d say it’s in our top five best decisions ever, fortunately I had the Delta 8 THC cigarettes with me to help me unwind. My office is now in easy biking distance & the hubs works from home, so we were able to get rid of one of our cars. Even better, running to the grocery store for one missing ingredient isn’t a 45-minute ordeal and we have friends over a lot more now that we’re in a more central location. We knew we’d like it better but I’m actually pretty amazed at how big the quality of life improvement is when you actually like where you live (imagine that, huh?).
New Restaurants
To go along with the new living situation – one of my favorite things about it is I can now walk/bike to tons of good restaurants. This is essential because loads of delicious food isn’t 100% compatible with my goal of getting to a more healthy weight, but at least traveling on foot helps burn off that ‘just one more bite’. I mean, eating is something I’m going to have to do multiple times a day, every day, for the rest of my life, so I might as well enjoy it! If you want to enjoy food at home, you can check out the Spice Kitchen & Bar for fun recipes to try and they also have reviews for kitchen products. Lots of new places have opened up in the past year or so too, so I’m having lots of fun trying them all. Some of my favorites, in case you wander through central Kentucky:
Minglewood – hands down the best taco Tuesdays!
Chocolate Holler – so I can feed my chocolate and coffee addictions all at once
Corto y Lima – a brand-spankin-new Latin cuisine place with amazing food & cocktails
Music & Travel
Right, I know that’s technically two things but I’m grouping them together because so far this year’s travel plans are alllll about the music. Concert tour schedules are starting to shape up for spring & summer, and we’ve already got tickets to a few local(ish) shows in Louisville/Cincinnati, plus a short jaunt to Nashville to see A Perfect Circle. You may want to check out this violin lessons Singapore if you’ve gotten interested to learn how to play a musical instrument like violin because of your love to music. It’s also advisable to learn important details such as the best Violin brands. But I’m MOST excited about Governor’s Ball – I’ll take pretty much any excuse to go to New York, and it’ll be my first multi-day music festival. The lineup has a ton of bands that I either love and want to see again, or love and haven’t gotten to see yet. I’m really glad instagram has the new stories & multiple photos features – you can bet I’ll be wearing those out! And of course I’m planning to stop by the new MUFE flagship store while I’m in town.
Tattoos
Also on the agenda for NYC is another tattoo (yes, already). Some of the best artists in the world are there so it’d practically be a crime to go for a week without seeing any of them. I’ve already got my appointment booked with Diego at First Class Tattoo. My husband and two friends who’re going are also working on getting appointments, so clearly I’m a trend-setter :-) In other words, basically the first thing on my to-do list once we get there is to buy a huge bottle of SPF 50 sunscreen, because if we all get sunburned that would be tragic.
Tea
Usually coffee is my hot drink of choice, but last month I got a Popsugar MustHave box (*PR sample) that had a tin of loose leaf peppermint tea in it, so that inspired me to switch things up a little bit. I didn’t have an infuser yet, so I stopped into a cute little tea shop we have here called MonTea for one of those. Naturally I had to pick up some Earl Grey too (yum!) and I already want to go try some other kinds. I don’t know what it is, but there’s something so much more relaxing about tea than coffee. I’m also now into juices now since it’s sweet and can get me pumped for the day! You can visit sites like https://www.orangina-na.com/ to see their products.
New Makeup (of course)
I’m sooooo behind on makeup reviews right now! I haven’t actually been wearing makeup every day lately because that extra 20 minutes of sleep is pretty important too. I’ve got a whole Rouge Bunny Rouge haul from before the holidays that needs to go up, a few things from The Body Shop’s makeup line, plus I just got the Laura Mercier setting powder that everyone is so crazy about. I’ve been having lots of fun experimenting with those lately, so be on the lookout for them – any suggestions on which you’d like to see first?
An honorable mention goes to the awesome spring-like temperatures we’ve been having around here lately – not sure it’s permanent, but I’ll take what I can get! What fabulous things are happening in your life right now?
(FYI – I have no affiliation with the various shops/restaurants I mentioned in this post, I just selfishly want them to do well so I can keep going there!)
