Lust List: things I want to try!

With all the new lines and fall collections coming out lately, there are a ton of things on my wishlist right now. Here are some of the ones I’m looking forward to most, in no particular order.

1. NARS Eye Paints

NARS Eye Paints

I have yet to find a cream eyeshadow formula that I really love. The NARS Eye Paints aren’t available yet, but based on the reviews & swatches from the non-blonde and Vampy Varnish, they sound fantastic.  NARS did such a terrific job with their eye primer that I have high expectations for the paints too. I just wish they had a white one that I could use as a base for powder shadows. In any case, there’s not too much longer to wait, since they’ll be available on September 1st from narscosmetics.com and nordstrom.com.

2. Tom Ford fall eyeshadow quads

Tom Ford Crushed Amethyst

Ok, so this is actually Tom Ford Crushed Amethyst, which is being replaced by the new fall quads.

They weren’t announced as part of the fall collection, but there will be a few new (to the US, anyway) eyeshadow quads available soon. Two were previously Asia exclusives – Lavender Lust which is pinks and purples, and Seductive Rose which has peach and plum colors. Color Me Loud has great reviews and swatches here and here. The third one, named Orchid Haze, is new and made up of neutral-ish mauves and purples. You can see photos on Cafe Makeup. I’ll probably skip Lavender Lust for now because I can’t really justify another purple-based eyeshadow quad just now. I can’t wait to get my hands on the other two though! According to saks.com they should be available to ship by September 14th. You can also get Tom Ford Beauty products at neimanmarcus.com and bergdorfgoodman.com.

3. Wayne Goss Makeup Brush Collection

Wayne Goss Makeup Brush Collection

I know I haven’t done a lot of posts about brushes yet (I’m working on several because I want to be really comprehensive!), but I’m a huge brush fiend. There are a couple of styles in here that I really want, particularly the foundation brush and the tapered crease brush. If the quality is as great as I expect it to be… oh man. I’m definitely waiting impatiently for September 24th. I’m not sure exactly what’s happening then, but Goss has a countdown to that date on his website. They’ll be available from beautylish.com starting Sept. 12

4. Hourglass Visionaire Eye Shadow Duos

Hourglass Visionaire Eye Shadow Duo in Dune

These aren’t actually new, but I guess I’ve overlooked them somehow. I randomly swatched some at Sephora recently, and holy cow they seemed nice! Smooth and pigmented, though I haven’t actually tried them on my eyes. You also get a lot for your money compared to other brands – .10oz each for $38, which is actually way cheaper than Urban Decay singles (which are $18 for .05oz). The only thing holding me back from buying is deciding which color to get. Dune (pictured above) is gorgeous, but I’m not sure how much I’d wear it. Suede and Gypsy were the ones I loved at Sephora, but they may be a little too similar to other colors I own. And I’m pining a little bit for Exhibition, but as I already mentioned, I have quite a few purple shadows as it is. Decisions, decisions. These can be gotten from hourglasscosmetics.com, sephora.com and spacenk.com

5. No 862 Madame Reve Rouge G from the Guerlain fall collection

Guerlain Rouge G Madame Reve

So far I only have one lipstick from the Guerlain Rouge G line (Grenade) and it’s on track to be the first lipstick I’ve ever ‘hit pan’ on. All the reviews say the formula for the fall colors is just as amazing, and dat packaging. They’re available at nordstrom.com.

Love the Hourglass Gypsy duo… I use it at least once a week (which is a lot for me, lol). I’ve also got a few items from Charlotte Tilbury’s makeup line on my wish list.
