Spring 2014 collections – wake me up when summer comes
Sneak peeks and releases of the spring beauty collections have been rolling out for a bit now and I have to say… I’m feeling underwhelmed. Why’s that, you ask? Well here, take a scroll through some of this season’s offerings.
Burberry Beauty – English Rose
Chanel – Notes de Printemps
Dior – Trianon
Giorgio Armani – Effetto Nudo
Givenchy – Over Rose
Guerlain – Meteorites Blossom
YSL – Flower Crush
Sooooo… yeah, we get it. Spring. Pink & green. Maybe some purple thrown in for variety. Maybe I’m just bitter because pastels wash me out and pink eyeshadow makes me look like I’ve been crying, but there’s not a ton that I’m really excited about. The one exception might be the reformulated Meteorites Pearls – I don’t have any yet, and I love the new packaging. Those are permanent though, so it’s unlikely I’ll run out and get them right away.
I dunno, what do you think? Do pastels make your heart pitter-patter or is this going to make your New Year no-buy resolution easier?

January 6, 2014 at 7:55 amI don’t like pastel and feel the same way as you do for pinks. Some pinks work though. Especially if coupled with purples. I have to experiment. It is this way for the eyes but for nails I love pastels :-)) so I am mostly getting excited for the nail polishes this season.

January 6, 2014 at 4:51 pmI am a bit tempted by the Burberry Dusty Mauve polish. I ordered one of their polishes a while back (Mink) but ended up returning it because I didn’t love the color.
