Saturday Link Love: Season 2, Ep 18
This has been a week of painful lessons, literally. First, that it’s probably a good idea to gradually work up to a 20-mile round trip bike commute if you haven’t been riding for a while. Second, I’m still awful at tennis, but that’s ok because it’s still fun. Then my yoga instructor decided to take us down a peg or two by working on balance poses for most of the class; I thought I was doing a great job, but today I can honestly say I have sore muscles that I didn’t even realize were there. But on the other hand, I’ve done a pretty decent job at working out this week and I’m pretty happy about that – I’m getting back to the point where exercising makes me feel better instead of just exhausted. Which is an excellent thing since I’m toying with the idea of doing another half-marathon this fall. We’ll see about that though.
I also learned, via Instagram, what some of the Tom Ford fall collection is going to have in it – a gorgeous neutral quad, contouring cheek duos, and a new foundation. Full Time Ford has a roundup of the photos with some additional details about what we’ll be seeing.
Another new thing that I need in my life – this tiny little travel razor that I saw on Messy Wands. Because for one thing, you can take anything, make a miniature version of it and I’ll love it. I’ve also got a lot of travel planned (well, a lot for me, anyway) between vacation this summer and a week-long conference for work. So space-saving travel doodads will be handy.
There’s just enough time to get in a fragrance purchase at Sephora for triple points, so go read this review of the new Dolce by Dolce & Gabbana perfume from the Beauty Look Book. Just do it. I somehow overlooked this the last time I was sniffing perfumes, but I have a deluxe sample of it coming in my next order and really looking forward to trying it.
Since I finished off another one of my candles last month, now I have to pick a new one (first world problems, right?). I sniffed some of the Malin+Goetz ones when I went on my Rouge Bunny Rouge research trip, but couldn’t narrow it down. While I’m deciding, you can check out Makeup4All‘s review of their Vetiver candle – which was definitely on my short list.
One thing I still need to work on in my makeup routine is undereye concealing – theoretically I understand it, but it just doesn’t always work out. Sunny from Mostly Sunny posted her detailed step-by-step routine and it looks great, so I’m definitely taking notes.
Finally, this week we’re getting a sneaky peek into the Muji drawers of Lipstick With Some Sunshine – whose posts always make me want to just run out and buy all the baby’s breath I can get my hands on.
