Tom Ford Lips & Boys Michael

I’ve been incredibly excited about the launch of the Tom Ford Lips & Boys collection, because who doesn’t like Tom Ford, and who doesn’t like adorable little lipsticks? I showed some huge restraint in only ordering one, and it showed up today – a day earlier than FedEx estimated, even. Unfortunately these were a limited release and won’t be back in department stores until December 26th, but no worries if you didn’t grab one; you haven’t missed them entirely.

Some of the shades in the collection already exist under different names, but most of them are totally new. Michael is one of the new shades, so I thought I shouldn’t waste any time showing you swatches in case you want to snag one tonight. Onto the pretty pictures then.

Tom Ford Lips & Boys Michael Size ComparisonFor a bit of size reference, I lined up a couple minis (MUFE Rouge Artist Natural and Bite Luminous Creme, 1.5g each) and some full size (Burberry Lip Cover and Chantecaille Lip Chic, 3.4g and 2g respectively). Unfortunately I don’t have a full size Tom Ford to show you, but the Lips & Boys are 2g versus the full size’s 3g. Any way you slice it, it’s expensive for the amount you get, but it’s not more expensive per ounce than the full size. I actually really like this size, because there’s a good chance I’ll eventually use it up, but it’s not like I’ll use it all within the next week or anything.

Tom Ford Lips & Boys Michael Comparison SwatchesIt’s always good to have a frame of reference so I pulled out anything I own that’s remotely similar to Michael, and came up with these. From left to right: Givenchy Le Rouge in Corail Decollete, Rose Dressing and Magnolia Organza, Tom Ford Michael, Armani Rouge Ecstasy in Peony. Not exactly a winter color, but what’re you gonna do?

These little guys ($32 each, limited edition) are available at tomford.com. They’re also on Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Saks, Bergdorf Goodman, Bloomingdales and Selfridges today. They’ll be back for eight weeks starting December 26th, so mark your calendars!

Thanks very much for the size and color comparison. I selected some sight unseen, no swatch available. If I could see them, my choices would be much better but what can you do. Size looks to be very small though *sigh*

Which ones did you get? They’re definitely small, but I’m not disappointed in them.
