Urban Decay Beauty Junkies Rewards Referral

I usually don’t talk much about rewards programs because I feel like most of them are pretty ‘meh’. Sephora’s is pretty lackluster (particularly the Rouge level, which IMO is pretty useless). Ulta’s has a nice setup – dollar off rewards instead of miniature things I might not be interested in anyway – but they don’t sell most of my favorite brands, so I don’t actually shop there much. Nordstrom piloted a beauty rewards program, but it looks like it’s been cancelled as of last month. Sadface.

But this morning I got an email about a new reward program from Urban Decay called Beauty Junkies. Side note: I think the name totally fits their brand image. Even though I buy most of my Urban Decay stuff from other retailers, this one might actually be enough to get me to buy straight from their website – the benefits are actually really good! Like Sephora it has different levels, and each one has its own benefits.

Obsessed

When you earn 0-299 points in a year

  • Free shipping with no minimum order (woohoo!)
  • A birthday gift (not sure what yet)
  • Exclusive access (whatever that means – early, I guess?) to new and LE products
  • Event invites
  • Early scoop on launches
  • Extended returns

Freak

When you earn 300-599 points in a year

All of the above plus:

  • Early access to new products
  • Last call notifications when things are nearly sold out

Rockstar

When you earn 600+ points in a year

All of the above plus:

  • Expedited shipping
  • Private sales & events

The base perks on their own are nothing to sneeze at, but what I’m really excited about is the points system. They have the standard one point per dollar scheme, but there are also other ways to earn points too- connecting your social accounts, adding stuff to your favorites, referring friends and writing reviews (among other things). In fact, I signed up less than an hour ago and without even buying anything, I already have 85 points – almost enough to redeem my first reward. The rewards are a monetary discount, so score for that! Your first 100 points gets you $10 off, and then you get a $20 ‘kickback’ for every 200 points after that.

So yeah – compared to other reward systems, this one seems pretty damn generous. The shipping issue especially was the main reason that I never bought much from the UD site, so that’ll definitely make me want to shop more from them directly.

What do you think of the program? Are there other ones out there that you like better?

If you want, feel free to use my referral link (here) or use the referral code 6n83xwqg. You’ll get an extra 10 points and so will I!

The UD Junkie program is only worth it for the free shipping. I recieved a code for my bday gift, which is a 24/7 eyeliner (my choice of color) with purchase of a regular priced item. The code does not work while logged into my UD account. I chatted with an UD rep and also confirmed by email that in order for my code to work, I have to check out as a “guest”. Checking out as a guest doesn’t give me free shipping. So I have to chat or call to give them my order number so they can add the purchase points to my account, then they will refund me the shipping charges AFTER my item ships. It’s too much of a hastle for an eyeliner. For the $10 off for reaching 100 points does not become valid until AFTER you place your 1st order as rewards member. I have 125 points from reviews, recommending people, adding social media, etc. and my $10 off won’t become valid until I make a purchase for the 1st time as an UD Junkie. I know it’s new program so hopefully it will improve as it goes along, if not then atleast theres free shipping.

That’s so weird about the birthday code! It seemed like they were having some site problems at first – I was trying to post a review and it kept telling me that I had already reviewed the product. I wonder if checking out as a guest & then refunding the shipping is a temporary fix until they figure out what’s wrong.

I got my free eyeshadow for my birthday a few days ago and didn’t have any trouble at all. Maybe it was a temporary glitch?

Is your IG set to private? I think that can cause issues. I didn’t have any trouble with mine.

Here’s how I got to it on my account:

      * Sign into your account
      * Under the navigation options on the left side, click “PASS IT ON” (under the UD Beauty Junkies section)

Your link will be there along with options to customize it, tweet it, etc.

I can’t connect my Instagram to them either, its not an option under Linked Accounts on their site (and my IG is public). So I guess they still have bugs to work out. But I love it so far. I bought a brush on clearance and scored deluxe samples (all nighter spray and mascara).

For me it is under “How to Earn Points” on the left-hand navigation of after I click into my account info, and “Add Instagram” is one of the options.

I can’t figure out how to link my instagram account either… on the ud beauty junkies page there are links to log in to facebook and twitter to sign in for those accounts, but there’s not one for instagram. How did you link your instagram to your account?
    Thanks :)

I don’t think there’s an option to use that as your login, you can just connect it to get points.
