Happy Birthday Popsugar Must Have! (Spoiler Alert)
Are you a subscription box fan? Historically I haven’t been – Birchbox and Sample Society were both a bust for me – but I’m making an exception for the Popsugar Must Have Box*. Unlike most of the options out there, it’s not limited to beauty products – it has all sorts of lifestyle goodies including home decor and snacks. Even better, everything in it is full size, which I <3 very much. This month Must Have Box celebrates its 5th birthday, so naturally the box has a birthday theme and they’re doing some great giveaways this month (see more on that below). So here’s what I got in the August box, and as always, some thoughts.
Pastel Cheers Lacquered Tray ($28)
It’s so festive! I’ve already drafted it into service as a photo prop (on my Instagram). I’m positive it will come in handy for its intended purpose too, since our kitchen and dining room are separated and I usually have to make a couple trips anyway.
Fringe Studio Free Spirit Journal ($16)
I got a good laugh out of this because just a few days ago the hubs was laughing at me for skipping home (well, part of the way, at least) from trivia night, and I told him it’s because I’m a free spirit. Clearly they know me. The rose gold cover is really pretty, and the paper is nice and thick. I feel like fountain pen ink will bleed a little bit, but that’s just an excuse to get some new rollerball pens, right?
Meri Meri Gold Glitter Candles ($7.50)
We’re not really big on birthdays around here since we’ve both passed the major milestones except big 4-0, but these really make me want to bake a birthday cake. I vote coconut with cream cheese frosting, what’s your favorite?
Dogeared Friendship Bracelet ($34)
This bracelet is so pretty and delicate! I’m honestly not big on bracelets, but this looks like one of the few that won’t clack against my keyboard and drive me up a wall all day. I know technically it’s a friendship bracelet but would it be terrible if I just keep it for myself? :)
First Aid Beauty 5 in 1 Bouncy Mask ($38)
My first take on this was ooooh, it feels so weird! A little like jello that didn’t set all the way. But it’s full of moisturizing and calming ingredients so I gave it a shot anyhow. It feels really nice on the skin, and the light herbal smell makes it feel just like a spa day.
Goodie Girl Cookies Chocolate Chunk ($2.95)
The one thing I’m not super sure of in this box is the cookies, and that’s just because I have yet to meet a gluten-free baked good that matches the flour-y kind. But you never know until you try! I think I’m going to save these to snack on during my eclipse road trip.
Shoptiques Gift Card ($25)
I’m pretty sure all Must Have Boxes include a coupon of some sort, but a gift card is a pretty sweet birthday treat! Shoptiques lets you shop small local boutiques online, which I think is a fantastic idea. With so many things to choose from the only question is, what to spend it on?
As far as value goes, this ones comes out to a whopping $151.45 in products for the monthly price tag of $39.95. Of course, if you want an even better deal….
Giveaway & Coupon
So first off, if you want to sign up for your very own Popsugar Must Have subscription, you can use the code PARTY through 8/31 for $10 off your first box. Everyone who enters during August will automatically get entered into their birthday giveaway too! Some of the prizes sound pretty sweet:

I considered a quick youtube video to sing them a round of ‘happy birthday’ but on second thought I’ll spare you having to hear me sing ;-) Have you tried the Popsugar Must Have Box yet?
