That means, of course, that it’s time to start planning! This is always my favorite makeup sale of the year. Sephora carries a ton of brands that are otherwise only available at department stores, and you know how stingy department stores are with discounts in their beauty departments. I’m very torn this year on whether I should take the opportunity to get the bulk of my makeup shopping done, or if I should keep my list small. After all, I’ll be in Las Vegas for part of the sale – even though the Sephoras there have a way better brand selection than they do here in Kentucky, I’ve also got the Kiko and Inglot stores to consider. Decisions, decisions. In any case, here are some of things that are a solid ‘maybe’ as of right now, in no particular order.
Pat McGrath Labs Mothership Eyeshadow Palettes ($125)
This is more of a probably-not, but I’m extremely curious to check them out just because I’m always fascinated by makeup that’s way over a more typical price bracket. For example – will it be versatile enough to actually use on a regular basis? Is the quality just out of this world? In short, can it possibly be worth it? I really hope I get the chance to play with these in store, because inquiring minds want to know.
Grande Cosmetics Hydrating Lip Plumper Trio ($27)
I’ve been loving their clear lip plumper and matte lipsticks (stay tuned for more about those soon), so I really want to try out the tinted versions of the plumper. If they’re anything like the original, they’ll be a great low-effort way to make my no-makeup face look finished. And well, I’m kinda lazy sometimes so that suits me just fine!
Burberry Festive Beauty Box ($40)
Assuming it doesn’t go out of stock in the next few days, at least – there’ve been a few versions at this point, and they always seem to sell out. This particular instance comes with a full size eyeshadow that I don’t already have (Golden Pearl), their Cat Lashes mascara (which I’ve been wanting to try), and a mini Lip Velvet in Oxblood – another formula I haven’t gotten to test yet. I could give or take Fresh Glow primer/highlighter since I already have a couple deluxe samples of those, but I know I can always count on my friends to take duplicate makeup minis off my hands!
Hourglass Confession Lipsticks ($34)
I have one of these already in the I Lust For shade (via Influenster), but I don’t wear it much because I just don’t wear nude lipsticks often. I really like the formula though, and the packaging is SO vintage glam, so I want to pick up something in a fun color.
Another one of those ‘I mainly wanna check it out in person’ situations. I’ve been a little skeptical of ColourPop since it started out as one of those instagram-influencer-fueled brands. Said the pot to the kettle lol. But Sephora carries it now and their website claims it’s in stock at a few Las Vegas stores, so I might as well swatch it while I’m there. Right?
Jo Malone Blackberry & Bay Cologne ($65)
This has the highest likelihood of actually coming home with me because I’ve been lusting for some Jo Malone fragrances for a while now, but never quite pulled the trigger on just because they’re fairly pricey. The question is, should I get a full size of this one, or spring for the Cologne Collection ($115) of minis for more variety?
What are you going to (or did you) get during the Sephora sale?
