Getting Vegas-Ready With Grande Cosmetics

Several months ago I posted about my new obsession with liquid lipsticks, and girl, that train is still rollin’! Now that the weather is turning cooler and the furnace is kicking on, I’ve been switching over to fall colors and formulas. On top of that, I’m going to Las Vegas soon – sure, it’s for work, but I still plan to have a blast while we’re there, and no-fuss lip color is required. My pick for a fall trip to Vegas: GrandeLIPS HydraPlump Semi-Matte Liquid Lipstick.
You know me – bright pinks and corals are my usual shtick and I have no problem wearing them year round, but it doesn’t hurt to have at least a couple seasonally appropriate colors. With that in mind, I’ve been testing out the HydraPlump lipsticks in Smoked Sherry and Red Delicious. Red Delicious is a bright apple red that’s just a hint on the cool side, and Smoked Sherry is a gorgeous deep wine shade. Both are gorgeous, but of the two I prefer Red Delicious because I think it’s more flattering on my skin tone. I’ve also got my eye on Strawberry Rhubarb because it looks like it would be a great everyday color for me. In all there are a total of 8 shades right now, in a variety of depths and undertones.
And let me tell you, the color on these is like POW! Unlike some liquid formulas I’ve tried, they cover well in one swipe. They also leave a great, vibrant stain – fantastic on your lips, but the swatches were on my arm a little longer than I had planned. It dries down to a semi-matte finish, but blotting will take it to full matte, or you can pair it with the Grande Cosmetics Hydrating Lip Plumper to add some shine.
On the other hand, the long wear is precisely why these will be coming along in my makeup bag for a late night out. They easily last through my daily thermos of coffee, and the color stays noticeable until well after lunch. More importantly, once it’s on, it’s on. I don’t have to pop out my compact mirror every 15 minutes to make sure I don’t have lipstick bleeding outside my lip border, or getting on my teeth or otherwise malfunctioning in a way that’s likely to make me show up as an embarrassing meme on the internet.
The other reason the GrandeLIPS liquid lipsticks are perfect for this trip in particular is the formula. Flying + dry Nevada air + zero-humidity hotel/casino with great apuestas deportivas peru always leaves me feeling like a shriveled-up prune. Not super cute. This formula is a lipstick and lip plumper all in one, so it prevents that shriveled pout look. Not only that, but it’s also full of ingredients that help keep your lips moisturized, so it’s really comfortable to wear all day. The texture is really creamy, like cupcake frosting, and it has a nice vanilla scent to match – it is pretty strong at first, but wears off quickly so it doesn’t affect the smell/taste of food and drinks. Important, because eating is probably my second favorite travel activity after makeup shopping!
