Things that apparently exist: diamond-studded eyelashes
Honestly, I just needed to share this with you guys. Over the past several years my threshold for what I consider to be wildly expensive makeup has evolved quite a bit, and I sort of thought it wouldn’t be possible to shock me with price stickers anymore. Turns out I was wrong! I don’t quite remember how I ran across these (reading blogs? gift shopping?) but I blinked pretty hard when I saw these babies on the Barneys website:

Yes, these false lashes from Krē•āt Beauty have rows of real diamonds across the lashband. According to the product description, they’re corner wing lashes with 18k white gold and 0.2 karat diamonds (total weight), and they retail for $1350. You read that right, there are no decimal points in that number. As much as I’d love to have the type of life where I might reasonably wear these without seeming ridiculous, I don’t think they’ll be going onto my wishlist this year! What if one fell off? Or broke during my repeated failing attempts to attach them to my eyes? Not to mention it would eat up basically my entire beauty budget for 2014.
As unrealistic as these are (for me, anyway), stumbling across them did bring a new brand to my attention, since I had never heard of Krē•āt Beauty before. They make several other luxury lashes (like gold/silver encrusted in the $200-$300 range) along with bling-less versions that run between $15-$20, which is much more do-able. I’ve never tried anything from them, but some of their lashes look really interesting and complex – plus the risers they come on are adorable. I’m starting to wonder if I should make a small order?

Have any of you ever tried lashes from Krē•āt? If so, what did you think of them?
