Summer Collection Roundup

Summertiiiime! It’s still not exactly warm outside, but the most frigid part of the winter seems to be past us and we can ramp up to spring. I was a little bummed out about the spring collections because a sea of pastels makes me yawn so hard my jaw might come unhinged. But as it turns out, summer looks like it’s going to more than make up for it. Here are some things that I’ll definitely be checking out (and I think you should too).

Bourjois

Bourjois Rouge Edition VelvetBourjois will be releasing their new Rouge Edition Velvets soon – I’ve heard April, but no confirmed date so far. They’re supposed to be a creamy, non-drying, matte liquid lipstick. I’m guesstimating that it’ll be a bit similar to the Bite Beauty Cashmere Lip Creams, which I’ve been pretty pleased with. Sadly, Bourjois stuff isn’t widely available in the US, but we can cross our fingers that these will show up on ASOS eventually.

Dior

Dior Addict Fluid SticksThe big new thing from Dior is their Addict Fluid Sticks ($35). As they describe it, these have “the high-impact color and long wear of a lipstick, combined with the shine of a gloss, all in a thin veil that delivers a weightless feel.” To me, they look like Dior’s answer to YSL Glossy Stains, and I think it’ll be really interesting to see how they compare. You can them now on the Dior website.

Givenchy

Givenchy Poudre Terre Exotique There are a few interesting pieces in the Givenchy summer line up, but in my humble opinion the star is the new Croisiere Poudre Terre Exotique (£39 GBP/USD ???). I’ve been wanting to give bronzer another go this summer, and the beautiful pattern alone makes me want to buy this one. It’s scheduled to be released in April, but Color Me Loud already has swatches. You can see the other pieces in the collection at Chic Profile.

Guerlain

Guerlain Rouge GI don’t know if they’re technically part of the summer collection (probably not), but that doesn’t change the fact that Guerlain will be releasing some new Rouge G shades soon. Even if the luxe packaging makes them pricey, I don’t mind because the formula is one of my favorites. You can see more info from Chic Profile.

NARS

NARS Contour Blush These new duos from NARS are named “Contour Blushes” but… I’m not convinced. The colors seem a little to rosy from the images to actually be great contouring colors, so they read more like a blush & highlight duo. Regardless, I really like the NARS blushes I have, so I want to check these out. They’re available now ($42) on the NARS website.

Wayne Goss

Wayne Goss Face SetWayne Goss Eye Set Much faster than I expected, Wayne Goss has come out with two new sets of brushes – one for face, and one for eyes. I’m not in as much of a hurry to run out and buy these as I was with the first collection, mostly because they’re eerily similar to some of the Hakuhodo brushes I already own. I am intrigued by the hair though, so I may check out one or two of them. The face set is available now on Beautylish, and the eye set/individual brushes should be available in April.

YSL

YSL Couture PaletteHow gorgeous is this? “This” being the new YSL eyeshadow palettes. The new layout of the quint is perfection, and there’s mention of an updated formula too. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately, at least for my bank account), these aren’t set to be out until June. In the meantime you can get more info from Beautezine.
